Overview

Poloxamine 1107 (also known as Tetronic 1107 or T1107) is a synthetic, nonionic block copolymer surfactant consisting of four arms of ethylene oxide (EO) and propylene oxide (PO) blocks attached to a central ethylenediamine core. Its typical molecular weight is approximately 15,000 Da, and it is highly amphiphilic—capable of interacting with hydrophobic and hydrophilic compounds—which makes it useful as an emulsifier, dispersant, and solubilizing agent in a wide range of formulations. In aqueous environments, Poloxamine 1107 can form micelles and temperature/pH-responsive gels, making it valuable for controlled drug delivery systems, enhancing the bioavailability of poorly-soluble drugs, and stabilizing pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulations.
