Overview

Polyadenylate-binding protein cytoplasmic 1-like 2B (PABPC1L2B) is a predicted RNA-binding protein belonging to the poly(A)-binding protein family, which are known for binding the poly(A) tail of mRNA and promoting stability and translation[6][7]. While the best-studied member, PABPC1, supports cytoplasmic mRNA regulation, deadenylation, and translation, PABPC1L2B is predicted based on homology to share similar mRNA binding functions but lacks specific characterization. It is predicted to enable mRNA 3'-UTR, poly(A), and poly(U) RNA binding activity and is localized to extracellular exosomes[6][7]. There is currently no evidence it serves as a direct therapeutic target, biomarker, or that it interacts with any drugs.
