Target intelligence / Profile preview
Polycystin-2 (PC2), also known as TRPP2, is a non-selective cation channel encoded by the PKD2 gene. It is an integral membrane protein that regulates calcium ion influx across cellular membranes. PC2 functions in complex with polycystin-1 (PC1) and is crucial for kidney development and function. Mutations in PKD2 cause autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD).
