Polypyrimidine tract-binding protein 3 (PTBP3) is an RNA-binding protein of the hnRNP family that binds to CU-rich elements in exons and introns, influencing mRNA splicing, stability, localization, and translation. It is crucial for regulating cell differentiation and post-transcriptional gene expression. PTBP3 is highly expressed in many cancers and is associated with poor prognosis, cancer progression, metastasis, and resistance to chemotherapy.
