Overview

Polyribonucleotide nucleotidyltransferase 1 pseudogene 1 (PNPT1P1) is a pseudogene located in the human genome that shares significant sequence homology with the functional polyribonucleotide nucleotidyltransferase 1 (PNPT1) gene but does not encode a functional protein. Pseudogenes, by definition, are incapable of producing proteins and generally lack biological activity, but they can provide insight into gene evolution and genomic organization.
