Polysaccharide antigen–carrier protein conjugates are engineered vaccine immunogens in which a surface carbohydrate antigen from a pathogen (such as a capsular polysaccharide) is covalently linked to a carrier protein (such as diphtheria toxoid, tetanus toxoid, or CRM197)[1][3][4][5][7].
