Pomalidomide is an immunomodulatory drug (IMiD) and thalidomide analogue used in the treatment of multiple myeloma and Kaposi's sarcoma. It acts through multiple mechanisms, including immunomodulation, anti-inflammatory effects, antiangiogenesis, and induction of apoptosis in malignant plasma cells. It also binds to cereblon, leading to degradation of specific transcription factors. Due to its teratogenic potential, strict pregnancy prevention programs are required.
