The Postmeiotic Segregation Increased 2-Like 5 pseudogene (ENSG00000230305, PMS2L5 pseudogene) is a nonfunctional segment of DNA that resembles the protein-coding PMS2 gene, which participates in DNA mismatch repair. The PMS2L5 pseudogene does not encode a functional protein and is not known to play a direct role in cellular processes or disease. It is one of a family of PMS2-related pseudogenes located on chromosome 7 and may complicate genetic analyses of the PMS2 gene region due to sequence similarity.
