Potassium channel TASK-3 (TASK-3)

Target
TASK-3
Molecular classification
Ion channel, Potassium channel, Two-pore domain (K2P) potassium channels
01

Overview

TASK-3 (KCNK9) is a two-pore domain potassium (K2P) channel that contributes to the resting membrane potential and regulates neuronal excitability. It is highly expressed in the central nervous system and is modulated by extracellular pH and various pharmacological agents. Dysfunction or altered expression of TASK-3 has been implicated in several diseases, including sleep disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer.
