It is composed of the Kv4.3 alpha subunit (encoded by the KCND3 gene) and the auxiliary subunit KChIP2. This complex plays a crucial role in regulating the early repolarization phase of the cardiac action potential, influencing heart rate and susceptibility to arrhythmias. Dysfunction or mutations in this complex are associated with cardiac disorders like Brugada syndrome and early repolarization pattern.
