POTE ankyrin domain family member D (POTED) is a protein-coding gene belonging to the POTE gene family, which is characterized by ankyrin repeat domains and is predominantly expressed in reproductive tissues—including the prostate, ovary, testis, and placenta—and in certain cancers such as prostate cancer[1][2][6]. The protein may play a role in apoptosis, especially during spermatid development in the testis, and is classified as a cancer/testis antigen due to its tumor-associated tissue-restricted expression[5]. POTED does not have known drug interactions or established therapeutic targeting roles and is mainly of interest as a putative biomarker or antigen in the context of cancer[5].
