Target intelligence / Profile preview
PQ loop repeat containing 1 pseudogene 1 (SLC66A2P1, also known as PQLC1P1) is a human pseudogene located at chromosome 7q21.13[2][4]. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences that resemble functional genes but have accumulated mutations that prevent them from coding for functional proteins[6]. SLC66A2P1 is non-coding, does not produce a functional protein, and has no known biological function or established role in human disease. Although parental genes of pseudogenes can sometimes be involved in disease through recombination or sequencing misalignment, there is no evidence that SLC66A2P1 itself acts as a therapeutic target, biomarker, or drug target[3][6].
