Overview
PR domain-containing protein 11 (PRDM11) is a protein-coding gene belonging to the PRDM family, which contains a PR domain homologous to the SET domain found in histone methyltransferases. Unlike most other PRDM proteins, PRDM11 does not contain repeated zinc-finger domains following its PR domain[4]. It is primarily involved in transcriptional regulation, chromatin binding, and epigenetic modification, with roles in negative regulation of cell growth and positive regulation of apoptosis. PRDM11 has been implicated in cancer, notably in Eyelid Carcinoma, and may serve as a tumor suppressor or oncogenic factor, depending on isoform expression. Its molecular activities are thought to regulate chromatin structure and gene expression, and mutations or altered expression of PRDM family members—including PRDM11—have been studied in cancer genomics[3][4][1]. No specific drugs or biomarkers related to PRDM11 are currently established.
