Preferentially Expressed Antigen of Melanoma (PRAME)

Target
PRAME
Molecular classification
Leucine-rich repeat proteins, Cancer/Testis Antigen (CTA)
01

Overview

Preferentially expressed antigen of melanoma (PRAME) is a cancer/testis antigen (CTA) predominantly expressed in melanomas and some other cancers, with limited expression in normal adult tissues except for testis. It represses retinoic acid signaling, inhibiting differentiation and apoptosis. PRAME serves as a diagnostic marker to distinguish between malignant melanoma and benign nevi and is a promising target for immunotherapy due to its selective overexpression profile across malignancies.
