PRICKLE2 antisense RNA 3 (PRICKLE2-AS3) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene located on chromosome 3 in humans[4][5][6]. It does not code for a protein but may play a role in the regulation of gene expression, particularly during developmental processes[6]. As of the current knowledge and published data, PRICKLE2-AS3 is not considered a therapeutic target, nor is it classified as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other druggable protein class. Most research focuses on its basic biology, such as possible involvement in gene regulation related to neurodevelopment, but its direct biological functions, disease associations, drug interactions, mechanisms of action, biomarker utility, or safety concerns have not been established or reported in the scientific literature[5][6]. No evidence indicates that PRICKLE2-AS3 is involved in neurodevelopmental or neurodegenerative diseases, in contrast to the protein-coding gene PRICKLE2, which is implicated in autism spectrum disorder, epilepsy, and Alzheimer's disease[1][3][7]. PRICKLE2-AS3 should also not be confused with PRICKLE2, a protein-coding gene with established neurological functions and disease associations.
