Overview

Primary human B cells, also known as B lymphocytes, are a subtype of white blood cells that play a central role in humoral immunity by producing antibodies. They mature in the bone marrow and migrate to peripheral lymphoid organs. They differentiate into plasma cells for antibody secretion or memory B cells for long-term immunity. B cells are involved in various disease states including autoimmune disorders, cancers and infections. Several therapeutic antibodies target B cell markers.
