PRKAR1B antisense RNA 1 (PRKAR1B-AS1)

Target
PRKAR1B-AS1
Molecular classification
Long noncoding RNA, Antisense RNA, Noncoding RNA
01

Overview

PRKAR1B antisense RNA 1 (PRKAR1B-AS1) is a long noncoding RNA transcribed from the opposite strand of the PRKAR1B gene. As an antisense RNA, it may regulate the expression of its sense counterpart and potentially other genes through interactions at the RNA level. The full biological function and disease relevance of PRKAR1B-AS1 remain largely unexplored, in contrast to its paralog PRKAR1B-AS2, which is implicated in ovarian cancer and chemoresistance. There is currently no evidence supporting its direct role as a therapeutic target, nor are there known drugs or biomarkers associated with it[4].
