PRKRIP1
Molecular classification
Other (spliceosome-associated protein), RNA-binding protein

Overview

PRKR-interacting protein 1 (PRKRIP1) is a spliceosome-associated protein required for pre-mRNA splicing and is involved in RNA processing in human cells[3][4][8]. It binds double-stranded RNA, interacts with protein kinases, and can inhibit EIF2AK2 (protein kinase R) activity[3][8]. PRKRIP1 is located in human chromosome 7 and has functions in chromatin organization and synaptic function within specific tissues[2]. It is recognized as a marker of poor prognosis in colorectal cancer but is not established as a direct therapeutic target or druggable receptor/enzyme[7][3][8].
