Pro-melanin concentrating hormone like 1 (PMCHL1)

Target

Overview

Pro-melanin concentrating hormone like 1 (PMCHL1) is a human pseudogene related to the melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH) gene family, annotated in many databases as a putative member of the MCH system. However, there is no evidence that PMCHL1 produces a functional protein or has biological activity. It is not a validated receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other therapeutic target. Instead, PMCHL1 is regarded as a noncoding genomic locus with predicted sequence homology to functional MCH-related genes, lacking established translational or clinical significance.
