Probable ATP-dependent RNA helicase DDX47 (DDX47)

Target
DDX47
Molecular classification
Enzyme, RNA helicase, DEAD-box protein
01

Overview

Probable ATP-dependent RNA helicase DDX47 is a member of the DEAD box protein family, characterized by the conserved Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD) motif and known for functions in ATP-dependent RNA unwinding[1][2][3][5]. DDX47 plays important roles in ribosome biogenesis, particularly rRNA processing in the nucleolus, and may also participate in mRNA splicing, translation initiation, and apoptosis[1][3]. It can shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm and possesses RNA-independent ATPase activity[1]. This protein is also indirectly implicated in disease processes including cancer and viral infection, for example as a host factor manipulated by HIV-1 for optimal viral RNA metabolism[3]. No specific small molecule inhibitors or therapeutic drugs directly targeting DDX47 have been reported.
