Target intelligence / Profile preview
PFN1P12 (profilin 1 pseudogene 12) is a non-coding pseudogene located on chromosome 1 and shares sequence similarity with the functional PFN1 gene (profilin 1), which encodes an actin-binding protein critical for cytoskeleton regulation. Unlike PFN1, PFN1P12 does not produce a protein and has no known role in molecular or cellular processes, disease, or therapeutic interventions. Pseudogenes such as PFN1P12 are often retained as remnants of gene evolution but may rarely play regulatory roles; however, no such function has been documented for PFN1P12 in current literature[3][9][11].
