Overview

The *programmed cell death 10 pseudogene* (ENSG00000253340) is a genomic DNA sequence related to the protein-coding gene *programmed cell death 10* (PDCD10), but contains mutations or disruptions that render it non-functional in terms of protein coding. Like other pseudogenes, it does not produce a functional protein product. However, it may be transcribed into RNA, which could, in theory, play roles in gene regulation, such as acting as a competing endogenous RNA or through other non-coding RNA mechanisms[6][2]. There is no evidence that this pseudogene serves as a direct drug target, diagnostic biomarker, or therapeutic target, nor is it intrinsically associated with a molecular disease mechanism.

02

Mechanism of action

None (no drugs or direct targeting mechanisms described)

03

Biological functions

Regulation of gene expression (potentially, as with other pseudogenes, via RNA-mediated mechanisms)Other (some pseudogenes have regulatory roles at the RNA level, but protein function is absent)
04

Disease associations

Other (pseudogenes can play roles in diseases, including cancer, but there is no specific evidence for this locus)
