Programmed cell death 6 pseudogene is a genomic locus that shares sequence homology with the protein-coding PDCD6 gene but has acquired mutations or structural changes that prevent it from producing functional protein. These pseudogenes are often transcribed into RNA, which can participate in gene regulation, such as acting as miRNA sponges or competing endogenous RNAs. Although pseudogenes can have regulatory impacts, they are typically not classified as therapeutic targets since they lack protein-coding function and druggability. There is no evidence that PDCD6 pseudogene itself plays a clinically important or therapeutic role, nor is there evidence for direct interaction with drugs or established use as a biomarker[4][6].
