Overview

Proline rich and Gla domain 3 (PRRG3) is a protein-coding gene that encodes a vitamin K-dependent, transmembrane protein characterized by a gamma-carboxyglutamic acid (Gla) domain and a glutamate-rich extracellular region[1][3][5]. PRRG3 is a member of a family of vitamin K-dependent transmembrane proteins and may be involved in concentrating coagulation factors on the cell surface through its Gla domain, potentially accelerating wound healing and playing a role in blood coagulation[1][4][2]. The protein is predicted to participate in calcium ion binding and has been linked with hereditary deficiencies of vitamin K-dependent clotting factors[5]. Currently, there is no evidence designating PRRG3 as an established therapeutic target, nor are there approved drugs or biomarker roles reported for this gene.
