Proline-rich protein 23E (PRR23E) is a human protein encoded by the PRR23E gene. It belongs to the proline-rich protein family, which are characterized by stretches of proline-rich repeats and often act as intrinsically disordered proteins, facilitating flexible protein–protein interactions[3][2]. However, there is no evidence that PRR23E is a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or established therapeutic target. The protein is encoded on human chromosome 3, locus 3q24 (gene symbol C3orf56)[3][7].
