Prostaglandin D₂ receptor 2 (CRTH2)

Target
CRTH2
Molecular classification
G protein-coupled receptor, Receptor
01

Overview

Prostaglandin D₂ receptor 2 (CRTH2), also known as DP2, is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds prostaglandin D₂ (PGD₂). It is highly expressed on Th2 lymphocytes, eosinophils, and basophils and mediates their chemotaxis and activation. CRTH2 plays a central role in allergic inflammation and is a therapeutic target for allergic diseases like asthma and atopic dermatitis. Activation of CRTH2 leads to decreased cAMP levels, increased intracellular calcium, and activation of the PI3K-AKT-GSK/NFAT axis.
