Prostaglandin D receptor 1 (DP1)

Target
DP1
Molecular classification
G protein-coupled receptor
01

Overview

Prostaglandin D receptor 1 (PTGDR1), also known as DP1, is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds prostaglandin D2 (PGD2). It is primarily expressed on immune cells, airway epithelial cells, vascular endothelium, and certain brain regions. DP1 mediates vasodilation, inhibits platelet aggregation, modulates allergic inflammation, and plays a role in cough reflex and reproductive development. Its association with asthma makes it a target of interest for respiratory disease research.
