Prostaglandin D Receptor 2 (CRTH2), also known as DP2, is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds prostaglandin D2 (PGD2). It is highly expressed on Th2 cells, eosinophils, and basophils, mediating their recruitment and activation during allergic inflammation. Activation of CRTH2 leads to decreased cAMP levels and increased intracellular calcium, promoting chemotaxis and inflammatory responses. It is considered a therapeutic target for allergic diseases like asthma and atopic dermatitis, as well as inflammatory conditions like Crohn's disease and colitis.
