Prostaglandin E receptor 3 (EP3) is a G protein-coupled receptor that mediates cellular responses to prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). It is involved in various physiological and pathological processes, including the regulation of insulin secretion, modulation of noradrenaline release, and platelet aggregation. There are multiple isoforms of EP3 generated by alternative splicing, which vary in their tissue expression and signaling pathways.
