The Prostaglandin F2alpha receptor (FP receptor) is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds and mediates the biological actions of prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α). Mechanism of action

Agonist binding activates Gq proteins, leading to phospholipase C activation, IP3 and DAG production, intracellular Ca²⁺ mobilization, and activation of protein kinase C pathways. Can also couple with Gi proteins in some cells/tissues.
