Prostate cancer associated transcript 4 (PCAT4) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene located on chromosome 4, also described as "gene differentially expressed in prostate" and previously annotated with aliases such as GDEP, PCA4, and PCAN1[1][2][3][4][6][7]. PCAT4 is not translated into a protein and belongs to the class of non-coding RNAs rather than traditional protein targets like receptors, enzymes, or transporters. It has been identified as being differentially expressed in normal prostate tissue compared to prostate cancer tissue, suggesting a role in prostate cancer biology, but its precise molecular functions and mechanisms remain unclear[4][8]. There is no evidence it is a direct therapeutic target, biomarker, or has approved drugs interacting with it at this time.
