Target intelligence / Profile preview
This gene, Proteasome 26S subunit, ATPase 1 pseudogene 1 (PSMC1P1), is a pseudogene that shares sequence similarity with the functional gene PSMC1, which encodes an ATPase subunit of the 19S regulator of the 26S proteasome complex. However, the PSMC1P1 locus does not produce a functional protein and is not involved in cellular protein degradation or other proteasome-associated pathways[4][10]. It is sometimes listed in gene catalogs due to its sequence similarity to PSMC1 but does not itself have biological function, disease implication, or therapeutic drug interactions.
