PSMD10P1 (proteasome 26S subunit, non-ATPase, 10 pseudogene 1) is a human pseudogene and a non-coding genomic locus corresponding to the protein-coding gene PSMD10, which encodes a non-ATPase subunit of the regulatory 19S particle of the 26S proteasome. As a pseudogene, PSMD10P1 is not known to be transcribed into a functional protein or to participate in cellular pathways, and it has no described therapeutic, biomarker, or direct disease relevance. The canonical functional gene in this family is PSMD10, not PSMD10P1, and the former encodes a regulatory proteasome subunit involved in protein degradation, cell cycle, and cancer biology. However, PSMD10P1 itself is non-coding. Pseudogenes are sometimes annotated because of genomic similarity to functional genes but do not retain their original protein-coding capability. PSMD10P1 is not a recognized therapeutic target, does not encode a functional molecule, and should not be selected for pharmacological targeting or biomarker use.
