Proteasome 26S subunit ATPase 1 pseudogene 13 (PSMC1P13) is a non-functional genomic sequence similar to the PSMC1 protein-coding gene. Functional PSMC1 encodes an ATPase component of the 19S regulatory particle, essential for assembly and operation of the 26S proteasome—a major complex responsible for ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation and regulatory proteolysis in eukaryotic cells. PSMC1P13 itself does not code for a protein and is not associated with cellular functions or therapeutic targeting.
