Proteasome 26S subunit ATPase 6 pseudogene (PSMC6P)

Target
PSMC6P
Molecular classification
Pseudogene, related to AAA ATPase family, related to proteasome subunits
01

Overview

The proteasome 26S subunit ATPase 6 pseudogene (ENSG00000262384) is a non-functional genomic region similar to the PSMC6 gene, which encodes a critical ATPase subunit of the 19S regulatory particle in the 26S proteasome complex. The 26S proteasome plays a key role in ATP-dependent degradation of ubiquitinated proteins, maintaining protein homeostasis, and regulating diverse cellular processes, but its pseudogenes are considered non-coding and do not produce functional protein[1][3][6].
