Target intelligence / Profile preview
Proteasome subunit alpha 2 pseudogene 1 (PSMA2P1) is a human pseudogene related to the proteasome subunit alpha type-2 protein. Unlike the functional PSMA2 gene, which encodes a structural component of the 20S core proteasome complex, PSMA2P1 does not encode a protein and lacks known biological or clinical roles. Pseudogenes such as PSMA2P1 can serve as evolutionary remnants and may have regulatory functions at the RNA level, but they are not considered protein targets or receptors relevant to pharmacology or drug development.
