Overview

The proteasome subunit alpha type 4 pseudogene (ENSG00000220030) is a non-functional segment of DNA similar in sequence to the gene encoding proteasome subunit alpha type-4 (PSMA4), but it does not produce a functional protein. Pseudogenes are often remnants of duplicated or otherwise non-expressed genes and are not themselves considered drug targets or directly involved in disease mechanisms.
