Overview

Protein eva-1 homolog C (EVA1C) is a single-pass type I membrane protein that binds heparin and other carbohydrates, encoded by the EVA1C gene in humans. Its specific molecular family has not been predicted, but it is located in the extracellular region and plasma membrane[1][2][6]. While its full biological role remains unclear, EVA1C has been identified as a potential prognostic biomarker correlated with immune infiltration in certain brain cancers (especially WHO grade II/III glioma)[7]. Diseases associated with mutations or dysregulation in EVA1C include hemochromatosis type 2[1]. No clinically validated drugs or mechanism-based targeting information is currently known for this protein.
