Overview

Protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 26 (PPP1R26) is a regulatory protein that interacts with and inhibits the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) complexes. By binding to PP1, PPP1R26 modulates the activity, localization, and substrate specificity of the PP1 holoenzyme. PP1 regulatory subunits, including PPP1R26, are key determinants of cellular signaling specificity, but there is no evidence indicating that PPP1R26 functions as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or established therapeutic target. No known drugs or clinically relevant small molecules are reported to target PPP1R26 specifically[1][3][5].
