Protein phosphatase Slingshot homolog 1 (SSH1) is a human enzyme that belongs to the slingshot phosphatase family and plays a critical role in regulating actin filament dynamics by dephosphorylating and activating cofilin, an actin-binding and depolymerizing factor[1][2][3][4][6][7]. SSH1 thereby facilitates actin filament turnover, which is essential for cellular movement, shape, and signal transduction.
