Overview
Protein-Tyrosine Kinase 7 (PTK7), also known as colon carcinoma kinase 4 (CCK4), is a single-pass transmembrane receptor belonging to the receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) family. Despite its classification, PTK7 is an atypical or "defective" RTK because it lacks intrinsic catalytic tyrosine kinase activity in its intracellular domain. It is involved primarily in developmental processes via modulation of Wnt signaling pathways, and its aberrant expression contributes to carcinogenesis, making it an attractive target for novel anti-cancer therapies.
