Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor Type C (CD45)

Target
CD45
Molecular classification
Enzyme, Receptor, Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase
01

Overview

CD45 (Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor Type C), also known as the leukocyte common antigen, is a transmembrane protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed on all nucleated hematopoietic cells. It plays a crucial role in regulating immune cell signaling and activation, particularly in T and B lymphocytes, by modulating the activity of Src family kinases and other signaling molecules within the TCR/BCR complexes. Aberrant expression or mutations are implicated in immunodeficiencies and hematologic malignancies, making it a potential therapeutic target.
