Overview
Proto-oncogene protein c-Met receptor (c-Met) is a receptor tyrosine kinase with critical roles in normal physiology and cancer biology. It is activated by hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and regulates cell proliferation, motility, morphogenesis, and survival. Dysregulation of c-Met, through overexpression or activating mutations, is implicated in various solid tumors, making it an important therapeutic target.
