Overview
Proto-oncogene protein c-myb (MYB) is a transcription factor crucial for regulating cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival, particularly in hematopoietic progenitor cells. It contains an N-terminal DNA-binding domain, a central activation domain, and a C-terminal regulatory domain. c-Myb binds to the DNA motif 5'-YAAC[GT]G-3'. Aberrant expression or mutations of MYB are implicated in various cancers, including leukemias and colonic tumors.
