Overview
Proto-oncogene protein C-Raf (RAF1) is a key MAP kinase kinase kinase (MAP3K) in the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway. It transmits signals from activated Ras proteins to downstream kinases MEK1 and MEK2, playing critical roles in cell growth, differentiation, survival, and apoptosis. Dysregulation or mutation can contribute to oncogenesis. Targeted therapeutics against RAF family members exist, but resistance mechanisms often emerge.
