Proto-oncogene protein N-Ras (N-Ras)

Target
N-Ras
Molecular classification
Small GTPase, Proto-oncogene
01

Overview

N-Ras is a small GTPase that acts as a molecular switch in signal transduction pathways regulating cell division, differentiation, and apoptosis. Mutations can lead to constitutive activation of the protein, driving uncontrolled cell proliferation, particularly in melanoma and hematologic malignancies. It is a proto-oncogene. While direct targeting is difficult, downstream effectors are therapeutic targets.
