Overview
Proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase Yes (YES1) is a non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase belonging to the Src family of kinases. It plays a critical role in regulating cell growth, survival, apoptosis, cell-cell adhesion, cytoskeleton remodeling, and differentiation. The YES1 gene is the human cellular homolog of the Yamaguchi sarcoma virus oncogene and is located on chromosome 18. Overexpression or aberrant activity has been linked to various cancers including small cell lung cancer (SCLC).
