Overview

Protocadherin gamma-A10 (PCDHGA10) is a member of the protocadherin gamma gene cluster within the cadherin superfamily of calcium-dependent cell adhesion molecules. It is primarily expressed in the brain and thought to play a critical role in establishing and maintaining specific neuronal connections. The gamma cluster contains multiple related genes organized in an immunoglobulin-like array, with each gene encoding a protein potentially involved in neural cell adhesion and signaling. Alterations in protocadherin genes, including PCDHGA10, have been linked to certain neurodevelopmental disorders, but this molecule is not a current therapeutic drug target and no drugs are known to interact with it[1][2][3][5].
