PRR15 divergent transcript (PRR15-DT), also known as AC007255.8 or AC007255.1, is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from an enhancer region, and classified as an enhancer RNA (eRNA)[1]. It is not a classic therapeutic target such as a receptor or enzyme, but it regulates gene expression, most notably positively correlating with the expression of its nearby gene, PRR15[1]. PRR15-DT is overexpressed in esophageal carcinoma tissues compared to normal tissue, and its higher expression is associated with poor prognosis and aggressive clinical features such as higher tumor stage and grade[1]. Functional enrichment analyses suggest that PRR15-DT is involved in immune response regulation, particularly affecting neutrophil activation, and is strongly connected to genes regulating tight junctions, indicating a possible role in tumor microenvironment modulation[1]. There are currently no known drugs that target PRR15-DT directly, nor established safety concerns regarding its modulation in therapeutic contexts. However, its expression may serve as a prognostic biomarker in esophageal cancer[1].
