Pseudouridine synthase 7 like (PUS7L) is a human protein encoded by the PUS7L gene, classed among the pseudouridine synthase enzyme family. It is presumed to catalyze the isomerization of uridine to pseudouridine in RNA, a widespread post-transcriptional modification important for RNA stability and function. While PUS7 (the closely related enzyme) is well studied and modifies a broad array of RNAs regulating cellular adaptation and development, PUS7L's specific substrates, cellular functions, and disease associations remain poorly defined. It shares structural similarity and predicted function with other pseudouridine synthases, but unique roles or mechanisms attributed exclusively to PUS7L have not been extensively documented. No pharmaceuticals are reported to interact with PUS7L, and there is no evidence for its use as a clinical biomarker. PUS7L is considered a valid molecular target for RNA modification studies, but its biological significance and potential as a therapeutic target require further investigation.
